We at Nalley Acura were excited to watch this month as Acura revealed three new models at the 2012 Detroit International Auto Show, each with innovative advancements and each set to be manufactured entirely in the United States at our Greensburg, Indiana, plant.
The 2013 ILX, an all-new compact sports sedan, introduces Acura's first hybrid powertrain, a 1.5-liter gasoline-electric, in addition to inline four-cylinder offerings of 2.0 and 2.4 liters. Standard features include pushbutton start, a wide-angle rearview camera and SMS text-to-speech voice texting capability.
The revived 2013 RDX crossover SUV includes a 3.5-liter V-6, which generates 33 more horsepower than its turbo-four predecessor. With front-wheel drive, the five-passenger RDX will get an estimated 20 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway. Both the ILX and RDX are scheduled to be available in showrooms by the spring.
The NSX Concept, a glimpse at the future of Acura's supercar design, is powered by a direct-injection VTEC V-6 engine paired with a Sport Hybrid drive system that uses a pair of electric motors. It is slated to reach consumers by 2015.
