It’s your chariot in which you fiercely conquer the world. Your sedan must always be there for you, as you make your daily campaign to work, school, soccer games, football practices, piano lessons, and occasional forays to the shopping mall or drive-through. You sedan has to be there for you, your greatest weapon in the battle to be the best mom you can be. To maximize the force of your sedan, you’ll need features that support you in your daily endeavors.
Performance
If you’ve chosen a sedan over a SUV or minivan, you’re already chosen performance, speed, and fuel economy over the convenience of size. Your car is a little less "Soccer Mom" and more "Hot Mama," particularly if your sedan is sporty. Your car is ready to take the highway when the traffic finally clears up, nimbly scooting across lanes of traffic so you don’t miss your exit. Make sure your luxury sedan is powerful, with a quick acceleration, and excellent brakes. Today’s modern machine should have an engine that is a fine-tuned symphony of fuel injection with brakes smart enough to respond to the situation. There is no excuse for a car in the sedan category to have bad gas mileage. Be aware that much of your driving may be city miles, as you ferry children back and forth from activities and school.
Naturally, you will want to check the safety rating of the vehicle. Be sure to check specifics, a car you’ve fallen in love with may have an average safety record, but it may have a crucial weak spot such as the front passenger seat. Most cars on the lot today are very safe, but you have to be careful with your family. Look for side air bags and air bags that can be turned off for younger, front-seat passengers.
Features
Features always cost more, but some are so useful it is worth the investment. A GPS system of some sort is an absolute must for anyone living in or near a city; helpful in finding out where the next game is or dealing with contingencies like finding a hobby store for that solar system model that is due tomorrow but you’re just finding out about. Also necessary: A Bluetooth connection allowing hands-free, voice-activated dialing and calling through the car audio. Having the ability to take and receive calls on the road without fumbling for a phone or wearing a Bluetooth ear bud is a boon to any working parent. The need to juggle multiple demands and communications can now be handled on the commute to work, and you can talk with ease to another parent before dropping your kids off or picking them up.
There are some features you may not want as well. Expensive seat materials and interior detailing is a bit lost on primary school passengers with ice cream cones in your back seat. You will want an interior that is easy to clean and doesn’t require a trip to the detail shop. Any feature that reduces trunk space, like a trunk-mounted multiple CD changer, should probably be avoided. You’re going to need all the trunk space you can get.
When looking at a luxury sedan, you need to consider how much time and how many miles you are going to spend in that car. If that vehicle represents a substantial portion of your day, then make sure that the car supports you in what you do.
